My Table

Ok. It's time to get back on the blogging trail. This is the first post that i will have officially "ping-ed" to PPS, so wish me luck in my quest to become an overnight blogging celebrity.

Speaking of which, congrats to Kenny Sia for winning some award at the just announced Project Petaling Street (PPS) awards. Yes, it was just announced merely minutes ago. Bloggers are the new world power. Kenny Sia is not undeserved of whatever award he won. His blog is by far the most entertaining Malaysian blog I've come across. Yes, it is true. His blog is even more entertaining than mine. And to think he just started in January this year.

I'm busy with my final year project along with tons of other projects these next 2 months, so I'm a bit malas to think up stuff to write. Since i had an old crappy webcam lying around (got it free somewhere) here's a few pics of the barang-barang on my table to keep you entertained.

This is the smurf doll I have facing me. This doll is ages old and yes, I know I'm 24 but hey, a smurf is a smurf. Joe the beanie baby monkey is supposed to keep him company but my 6 year old cousin wanted him so i gave Joe to him. He wanted the smurf too but i sternly warned him not to push his luck. "THE SMURF AIN'T GOIN NOWHERE, G", I bellowed. "HE'S STAYING RIGHT HERE WITH ME"

This here thing is my final year project. It's a Lego robot programmed with Java. The lil' blue thing onit's back is a light sensor. Shine a light sensor at him at him and he moves away. If he bumps into something he'll reverse and turn 45 degrees in the opposite direction of where the bump was detected and continue moving (Right bumper = turn left; left bumper = turn right). The bumpers are those two yellow things inthe front. I'd like to make this dude more complicated and intelligent. Even as it is, there's one bug I discovered. Caught between two obstacles, one on each side, the dude keeps moving left and right alternately, meaning that he's basically stuck there.

Ah, my prized possesion, my mixer. I saved for ages to get this mixer and now I can finally mix music!! The only problem is I have to use a mixing software, which is cool but I'd like to move on to using actual CD players, which I'm saving up for. Whenever I'm stressed or have a few minutes to spare, mixing it is! Some of the deejays I've heard, especially back in Penang, are crap! They know the techinical stuff but have no concept of playing to the crowd, what's the latest hot tracks and keeping the flow going. With a bit of experience, I'm pretty sure i could be somewhere. I started mixing coz I liked it. No ulterior motives here. That's the making of a good DJ.

My beloved shelf. I need more of these man! This shelf is stacked with books such as The Indispensable Calvin & Hobbes, the Lord of the Rings, Jeffery Archer's A prison Diary 1 and 2, the Personal Management Handbook (don't ask!), the Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, the Silmarillion and various IT books. There's a;so my CD collection compacted into 4 jam-packed booklets stacked neatly. Then there's a clock, my thumb drive/mp3 player, a painting of Aishwarya Rai (more below) and some batteries.

This here painting is a beautiful, almost life-like watercolour painting of Aishwarya Rai done by my uncle. This isn't the original. Copies were made since everybody wanted one! I know the picture quality sucks but if you could see this for yourself, you would see how good it is. Personally though, I prefer Shilpa shetty. And Laetitia Casta. And Jessica Alba. And Tyra Banks. I think I'll stop here.

The classic movie. This DVD is one I borrowed from a frien since I wanted to watch it again. The lines from this movie are cult classic, man. The scene where Jules quotes the bible, and the one where he taunts his victim with "Say what again, motherf**ker" are just too cool. Tarantino outdid himself with this one, and that's saying a lot, considering his previous work. By the way Samuel L. Jackson rocks!

Hey, where did this come from!?!? It must be magic! Well, since it's here......

Finally, I'd like to quote a joke I got off an e-mail. It is absolutely true, seeing how girls constantly bicker and guys just chill and have a beer. Need proof? Look at the girls of "The Apprentice" and the guys of "The Contender".

Friendship among women:
A woman doesn't come home one night. The next day she tells her husband she slept over at a friend's house. The man calls his wife's 10 best friends. None of them know about it.

Friendship among men:
A man doesn't come home one night. The next day he tells his wife he slept over at a friend's house. The woman calls her husband's 10 best friends.

8 of them say he did sleep over and 2 claim he's still there.
